Growing up in a pilipino household getting homemade haircuts was a way of life. Waiting for my turn I would always remember the sound of fish cooking and the fan whirling above my head. That and the snip snip of falling hair from relatives. The haircuts were memorable for all the wrong reasons but always gave me time and space to create.
