Batok refers to indigenous tattoos of the Philippines. So to celebrate AAPI Heritage Month, this piece pays homage to Apo Whang Od, a once in a generation tattooist. This print combines my enthusiasm for pop culture with my admiration for Filipino culture. Enjoy!
